THE RENEWAL PERIOD IS CURRENTLY CLOSED
NEW CONTINUING EDUCATION (CE) REQUIREMENTS EFFECTIVE OCTOBER 1, 2025!
During their November 7, 2025 meeting, the Board voted to approve the following policy:
License and certificate holders who are due to submit CE with their 2026 or 2027 renewal shall be allowed to submit CE under the old rules: Thirty hours of CE obtained during the forty-eight (48) months immediately preceding the renewal date. Up to twenty (20) CE hours may be earned by completing designated activities reviewed and approved by the WPA or the WSPA. At least ten (10) CE houirs must be earned by completing program designed activities reviewed and approved by the APA or NASP.
License and certificate holders will be required to meet the new CE requirements in Chapter 18 of the Board's Rules & Regulations during their next renewal cycle in 2028 or 2029, whichever applies.
Chapter 8, Section 1(f) of the Board's Rules & Regulations provides: "A license or certificate holder who has allowed his/her license or certificate to expire may apply for license or certificate within one (1) year of the expiration date by submitting a renewal application for license or certificate, the application fee, the restoration fee, the license or certificate fee for the current year, and verification of having completed thirty (30) hours of continuing education within the forty-eight (8) months immediately preceding the application date.
